A generative project can combine a main model, conditioning components and several processing steps. Before choosing the A100, list the ones that must stay loaded and the ones that can run one after another. This distinction prevents oversizing a card for steps that do not overlap.
Prepare a complete example: an input image, the workflow, the final definition and the desired output file. The goal of the first run is to validate the entire chain, then lock in the settings for the series.
80 GB is not a promised throughput
The extra capacity can help fit data that does not fit on 48 GB. It does not tell you how many images or seconds of video you will produce. Model, precision, resolution and processing options must be documented to compare runs.
Also measure the memory used during decoding and saving. Do not fill the envelope as soon as the models load if later steps still require resources.
Prioritize the software in your workflow
The A100 belongs to the NVIDIA Ampere architecture. For ComfyUI, prepare a compatible combination of PyTorch, NVIDIA components and custom nodes. Run a test with the extensions you actually need; launching the interface does not validate the whole graph.
For mostly Blender/Cycles production that fits within 48 GB, also compare the RTX 6000 Ada or the L40S, which are geared toward graphics compute. An H100 SXM retains 80 GB of capacity; the H200 goes up to 141 GB if your main need is to accommodate more data.
Book after a full pass through the graph
Your preparation checklist must cover the authorized models, the graph, the extensions and a sample output at the final definition. Run that example all the way to the saved file, then record the time and peak memory. These measurements, plus a margin for selection and retries, let you choose a duration of 3, 7 or 30 days.
Select the A100 SXM and your bundles, then check the amount before entering your details and crypto payment. During testing, keep one version of the graph for each selection. A change of model should produce a new version, so that older images remain understandable.
